Welcome to the Website of the Friends of Barnsley Hospitals Association. <<<<<New Event Details Added>>>

The Association was formed in 1981 and is a registered Charity. The Friends work to raise funds to benefit the patients and staff at all the Hospitals in Barnsley.

Events are organised by our Committee and further assistance is given by our helpers.  All are volunteers. 

Over £230,000 has been raised since the start in 1981. 

In recent years we have raised the money through holding ‘sale days’ using the Craft Shop facility within the Barnsley Hospital and our annual Easter Raffle. The sale days are held 5 or 6 times a year and we are totally reliant on items being donated for us to use and sell on our various sale days in the Craft Shop or for use as prizes in the annual Raffle.

The Hospital’s Staff Lottery which any member of staff working at either NHS Trust in Barnsley can join also provides approximately £2,500 per year.

We also receive bequests and donations.

We hold our meetings approximately 2 weeks prior to an event and have an Annual General Meeting once a year. All our accounting is undertaken by a senior Accountant employed at the Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
